Beach/Olson Spring Wedding!

We had the pleasure of kicking off the 2011 summer wedding season with this beautiful Spring wedding! From the dresses and tuxedos to the design, flowers, linens and stationery we helped Katie and John plan their perfect day! The weather was perfect for this elegant wedding incorporating hues of brown and yellow and accented with daisies in the details. Daisies were the favorite flower of the Bride's late brother and by adding touches throughout the design, the family was able to remember loved ones on this most special day. It was a delight to work with Katie and her family! We hope you enjoy a few pictures from their special day!

Smitten!

I love the word SMITTEN! I think this definition perfectly describes what it is to be smitten…
“An enjoyable disorder characterized by feelings of excitement, anticipation, high hopes, recent memories of interludes, giddiness, and physical overstimulation which occur simultaneously when experiencing a new love. These feelings take over without warning and make it difficult to concentrate on anything but romance. They interfere with work and safe driving, but should be experienced at least once in every person's lifetime” (Urban Dictionary, definition of “twitterpated”).

Being smitten is that feeling between two people, the feeling of butterflies in your tummy. It’s when you smile uncontrollably just thinking of that special someone. I think every girl should wait for that one person that is simply smitten with them! I want to share this adorable poem with you all:

I climbed up the door, and opened the stairs,
I said my pajamas, and put on my prayers,
I turned off the bed and crawled into the light,
And all because you kissed me good-night.
-Eddie Pola

Enjoy your night and dream of being smitten!

Congrats to my newly engaged sister, Rebecca & soon to be brother-in-law, Dane!

Jessica's Prom Picks!

It is prom season and right now we are having such a fun time helping girl's find that special dress for one of life's milestones. The pictures from prom, whether good or bad, will inevitably be shown to many people down the road. So, it's very important that each girl looks and feels her very best.

Looking at all the fabulous dresses makes me want to go back to Prom! Not high school...just Prom! When I was shopping for my Prom dress, I had a very hard time finding a dress I really loved. Luckily, I have an amazingly talented Mom (at least I think so!) and so she made my dress for Prom. I loved it, but no you will not be seeing a picture ;)

In our store, we carry designers with truly fabulous dresses. These photos are of a few of my many favorite dresses from this season's collections. The dresses are by Tony Bowls and Sherri Hill, who are both amazing designers. The bottom middle picture is of me in a fun pink and green Tony Bowls dress that I wore to the Prom Party and Fashion Show we held in January. I'll take any reason to dress up!!

Enjoy the photos and let us know if you need any help finding your next special occasion dress!

Autumnal Love

This past October, we had the priviledge of working with an exceptional bride to create her dream wedding. Her autumnal theme gorgeously encompassed the color and spirit of Fall! The wedding was in early October and was held at the bride and groom's residence. Their beautiful home, built by the groom and his father, sat on an expansive amount of land perfect for an outdoor wedding. The vows were exchanged on the front lawn under a hand-crafted arbor made by the father of the bride.

After the ceremony, guests were able to enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres prepared by Savor by Serendipity. We made hand-folded escort cards in varying fall colors and patterns to create a fun yet elegant escort table.

In order to accommodate a larger guest list and create a unique design, rectangular tables of 20 were used in conjunction with round tables of 8. Each table was adorned with a large whimsical floral centerpiece using curly willow branches, zinnias, mums, and baroque crystals, complete with a mason jar or bark vase.

For the long, rectangular tables, decorative logs with pillar candles and flowers filled the open spaces. Votive candles and acorns accented each table to add a richer Fall look.

These decorative elements we created for our bride made for an elegant, familial atmosphere that complimented the event's rich, natural autumn setting and was enjoyed by all of the guests! Congratulations to Lauren and Brian! It was an honor to be a part of your special day!

Showcase Success!

A local company approached us this past year about joining with them to produce our area’s first annual bridal showcase. They wanted a collection of all the vendors in our area that assist with any aspect of a wedding—bridal gowns, event planning, music, tuxedos, catering, florists, etc. Being the only local vendor that offers many of these wedding services, we assisted with the groundwork for the event and were able to showcase a lot of what Serendipity has to offer. During the event we produced two runway shows in which we used actual Serendipity brides wearing their actual gown! What bride doesn’t want to wear their dress twice? They also modeled other available gowns from Serendipity. Their flowers, hair, makeup and other accessories were all provided by Serendipity. The event was a huge success! It was a great way to connect with vendors and show upcoming brides what we have to offer!

Happy New Year!

This year has been nothing short of serendipitous! We are so thankful to all the many brides who trusted us to plan and design their weddings, it is such a privilege to fluff the train of the bride as she prepares to walk down the aisle to her future. We are also very grateful to the brides who allowed us to assist in the purchase of their wedding gowns. It is truly a special moment when a bride stands on the pedestal, looks at her reflection in the mirror and knows she has found "the dress!"

We are so thankful for this past year and the wonderful response we have received from our community and beyond. We have had the pleasure of helping mothers find a dress for their son's or daughter's wedding, dressing the groom, groomsmen and bridesmaids. It has been wonderful to share in such sacred moments with the bride, groom, and their families. We look forward to the new brides we will meet this year and all the wonderful families and moments we will experience in 2011!

Blessings to you all!
